CARI BARNES
BUDGET CHAIR
Missionary Cari Barnes, a native Houstonian, received a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management Information Systems and a Master of Science degree in Management.
In 1982, she established Barnes & Barnes Financial and Administrative Services Company where she focuses on preparing tax returns for low-income families and small corporations. Later, she opened Cari Barnes Tax & Notary continuing to offer services in low-income neighborhoods. She also volunteers her time providing free tax help for low-income families in the community. Cari operates her business full-time and represents taxpayers and businesses up to Tax Court. Cari also is a licensed Registered Representative with Avantax Wealth Management. In addition, Cari works at ExxonMobil as a Financial Advisor.
Cari is very active in the Church of God in Christ, Incorporated on the National, State, District and Local levels. She is a member of the National Board of Trustees serving as the Budget. She also has served on the Insurance, Construction, Asset Management Committees. She currently serves on the Budget Review Finance Committee and is the Financial Consultant to the General Supervisor for the International Department of Women; Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis. Missionary Barnes also works with the Hannah Project as the Financial Consultant and Member of the Women’s Department Hospitality Ambassadors.
She is a member of Texas Greater Southeast First Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Johnny Tates and Supervisor Lena McClain. She attends Williams Temple Church of God in Christ, Incorporated in Houston, Texas where Elder Craig Carter is Pastor. At her local church she serves on the Board of Directors/Trustee Board, Evangelism and Food Committees. Cari is saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.
