SUPERVISOR

MILDRED LINZEY

 

Supervisor Mildred Linzy is the third of thirteen children born to the late Bishop Robert James Johnson and the late Mary Johnson Washington.  Supervisor Linzy is the loving and caring wife of the late Elder James T. Linzy, adoring mother of two, one son-in-law and the doting Grandmother of three; Great Grandmother of three. Having a preacher as a father and being reared in the Church, Supervisor Linzy took serious, the Church of God in Christ Admonition that; “You Can’t Join in You’ve Got to Be Born In”.  Therefore, she sought and found the Lord in her youth.  Supervisor Linzy’s life is under girded by her strong faith in God, her nurturing parents and her loving and supportive family.

Supervisor Linzy has been an active member of Kelsey Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Bishop Samuel Kelsey and presently Elder Fred D. Morris, for the pass 59 years.  She also involved herself in numerous activities and programs within the National, State and Local Church receiving achievements and awards that are voluminous.  Supervisor Linzy served as the District Sunday School Field Rep. for more than 35 years, the State Ways and Means Chairperson, a pass member of the Enumeration and Job Description Committee (General Assembly), and the Treasury for the Pontotoc Housing Development in Memphis Tennessee (Chandler David Owens Place).  She has served as the First Vice Chairperson of the National Board of Trustees, former member of the National Publishing Board, former Personnel Manager for the Church of God In Christ and published the first Personnel Manual and the first Employee’s Handbook for COGIC, served with the General Board and the General Assembly members on the investigating Committee for Saints Academy in Lexington Mississippi, and was a former Vice President of the National Sunday School Superintendent’s Wives.

 

Endowed with a keen sense of assertiveness and God given ingenuity, her leadership has provided the impetus for a variety of outreach programs.  To name a few, she served as a member of the Outreach Ministry, Sick Committee, Mass Choir, Annual Women’s Day Chairperson and a member of the State Business and Professional Association.  She served ask Special Aid to the late Jurisdictional Supervisor (Mother Elizabeth Hampton).  Supervisor Linzy was also involved in community and social activities such as: member of the National Council of Negro Women, Charter Member of Women Information Process (WIP) Washington DC, a member of NNAACP, a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Science (Grammy Awards) and a member of the Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA).

In 1995, Supervisor Linzy retired from the United States Treasury Department after serving for 30 years.  Later she was employed by Bowie State University as Diversity Program Coordinator and was an Educator for the Public School System in Prince George’s County.  Supervisor holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, MBA, and a Doctorate from Breakthrough Bible College and Theological Seminary, a graduate from National Business School and a graduate from Pyramid Travel School.  Supervisor was appointed Supervisor of the Republic of South Korea in November 2005. In 2015 Supervisor Linzy was selected as one of the 150 Influential Women of the Church of God in Christ. In 2017, she was appointed by the General Supervisor of COGIC as Alternate Supervisor for Region 6 and later she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Resolution Committee for the National Women’s Department.

 

Supervisor Linzy presently serves as Supervisor of two Jurisdictions, the Republic of South Korea and recently appointed as Supervisor of Grace Fifth Jurisdiction Virginia.

 

Supervisor Mildred Linzy has a spirit of giving and servitude.  Her versatility as a speaker, singer, church servant, lover of fashion and her devotion to the kingdom of God has lead her ministry to become a global light.
